Mastering the mind: the heart of the yoga path

· Yogarahasya

The mind can become our great ally or our worst enemy. To a large extent, the mind is the cornerstone of the reality we live, for from it arise our perceptions, our decisions and our way of experiencing the world. It is, ultimately, the cause both of our happiness and of our misery.

For this reason, since time immemorial, yogis have devoted their lives to training, cultivating and disciplining the mind.

In essence, this is yoga. The Katha Upanishad says: ”When all the senses and the mind are subdued, the wise one attains the supreme state. This, the firm holding of the senses and the mind, is what is called Yoga”.

Understanding the intricate circuit of the currents of energy in the human being —the current of Kundalinī— and its centres of storage, distribution and power —the chakras—, the yogi employs refined methods to activate the higher cerebro-spinal centres, such as the pineal and pituitary glands. In this way, he increases his psychic development, perfects his capacity for concentration and strengthens the creative power of the mind.

Meditation is not only a sublime tool of spiritual unfolding; it is also a profound process of transformation that improves our human life on all its levels: health, vitality, mental clarity, abundance and success.

Yoga Rahasya, through its process of techniques and methods, teaches you that path.
