Yogarahasya
om ajñāna-timirāndhasya jñānāñjana-śalākayācakṣur unmīlitaṁ yena tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ
”I offer my most humble reverences to my spiritual master, who opened my eyes with the torch of knowledge when my heart was submerged in the deepest darkness.”
On the path of Yoga, on the way of meditation and inner cultivation, a master is not an obligation of the body, but indeed a call of the soul.
A master is not necessary… a master is INDISPENSABLE.
A master is essential, imperative, vital. Without a master, the Scriptures of India say, there is no true progress; without the guru's blessing, there is no way to attain spiritual realisation.
I had the good fortune to find my master when I was very young, in the distinguished figure of Father Dávila. His guidance became the luminous energy behind my mind and my heart, to cross this world of dualities and chiaroscuros with the torch of the Spirit alight.
Today, on the day of his birth, All Saints' Day, I wish to remember him and revere him.
The debt to the master is a debt that can never be paid. It can only be honoured. It can only be expressed by living his teaching.
Let us follow his example of prayer, silence, contemplation and meditation.
Let us keep transmitting his light.
