Jai Shree Radhe!
My best wishes on this day of Radha Ashtami.
In Sanskrit there is the word dhara (धारा), which means the flowing of a river that moves from its source towards the ocean. If this word is reversed, dhara (धारा) becomes radha (राधा). Radha represents the flow of a river that, instead of heading towards the ocean, returns to its origin. It is a profound metaphor: one can only be the beloved of God if one transforms the whole process of life from advancing towards an outer goal into a journey of return towards the very depths of one's own inner source.
From being a dhara, which flows outward and towards the goal, one becomes radha, which flows inward and towards the origin.
The source is within you; the goal is outside, but the eternal origin dwells within you.
Jay Shri Radhe!
